Carpenter

About the role

The Carpenter will inspect, repair, maintain, and modify wooden cable drums and other carpentry items required for plant operations at Nexans' advanced factory in Qatar. The role must be performed safely, efficiently, and in line with company quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect wooden cable drums, identify damage and repair needs.
• Repair, maintain, and modify wooden drums according to operational and quality requirements.
• Carry out general carpentry work within the factory and company facilities.
• Use carpentry tools, machinery, and equipment safely and correctly.
• Ensure completed work meets required quality and safety standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Report incidents, unsafe conditions, equipment defects, or operational concerns to the supervisor.
• Attend SQDCE meetings and contribute to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and engagement discussions.

Required profile

• Relevant vocational training or certification in carpentry (preferred).
• Previous experience as a carpenter in manufacturing, industrial, construction, or maintenance environments.
• Physical fitness to safely perform manual tasks.
• Dependable, disciplined, able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts when required.
• Basic communication skills in English (preferred).

Required skills

• Use of hand tools, power tools, and carpentry machinery.
• Repairing wooden cable drums.
• Basic knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to read work instructions, measurements, and basic technical drawings.
