Cash Accountant (Retail)

About the role

ABYAT is seeking a Cash Accountant to join its finance team in Doha. The role focuses on daily cash and payment reconciliation within a high‑volume retail environment. You will work closely with cashiers, store operations and the finance department to ensure accurate cash handling.

Key responsibilities

• Reconciling daily cash, POS/card, and bank collections against sales.
• Monitoring cash deposits and ensuring timely bank deposits.
• Reconciling bank accounts and investigating discrepancies.
• Recording cash receipts, deposits, transfers, and related accounting entries.
• Monitoring cash balances and preparing daily/weekly cash reports.
• Reconciling store/showroom collections with ERP records.
• Coordinating with cashiers, store operations, banks, and Finance.
• Supporting month‑end closing and cash‑related GL reconciliations.
• Investigating shortages, overages, unmatched payments, or delayed deposits.
• Maintaining proper documentation and internal controls over cash transactions.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in accounting and cash management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience in a high transaction‑volume retail, FMCG, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
• Strong SAP experience (mandatory).
