Cataloguing Engineer

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is looking for a Cataloguing Engineer in Doha to develop, maintain and manage a complete cataloguing system for equipment, materials and spare parts used in the oil and gas industry. The role works closely with procurement, user departments and operations teams to keep catalogues aligned with operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and manage an accurate and comprehensive cataloguing system for equipment, materials and spare parts, identifying, describing and classifying items according to company standards, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
• Work with procurement, user departments and operations teams so that catalogues match operational requirements and technical specifications.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and databases on catalogued items, keeping records accurate and up to date.
• Audit catalogued items regularly and implement improvements to accuracy and efficiency; collaborate with vendors and suppliers to update and validate items, including adding new equipment and materials.
• Provide technical support and guidance to cross-functional teams on cataloguing practices.
• Maintain a system tracking part numbers, descriptions and lifecycle status of equipment.
• Assist in developing and optimising cataloguing procedures and ensure compliance with safety, regulatory standards and internal procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in cataloguing, engineering or materials management within the oil and gas industry.
• Proven knowledge of oil and gas equipment, materials and parts.
• Familiarity with industry cataloguing standards such as ISO 9001 and API standards.
• Strong understanding of technical drawings, engineering specifications and data management.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Experience with cataloguing or asset management software and knowledge of ERP systems.
• Knowledge of cataloguing standards and best practices.
