Chief Accountant

About the role

StarWings Trading & Contracting WLL is looking for a Chief Accountant in Doha to manage day-to-day accounting operations, keep accurate financial records and support the financial control of HVAC sales, equipment rentals, maintenance contracts, projects, tenders and general trading. The role covers accounts receivable and payable, general accounting, payroll and statutory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of accounts, record daily transactions and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
• Reconcile bank, customer, supplier, credit card and petty cash accounts and assist with month-end and year-end closing
• Support external auditors during annual audits
• Prepare customer invoices, monitor outstanding balances and follow up on collections; prepare aging reports and resolve billing queries with sales and projects teams
• Process supplier invoices, verify them against purchase orders and contracts, and prepare payment schedules
• Maintain records of HVAC sales, rental equipment and project costs, and assist in preparing cost reports for maintenance contracts and tenders
• Assist with monthly payroll, employee records and end-of-service calculations, and help with VAT, corporate tax and other statutory requirements in Qatar
• Manage petty cash, monitor cash collections and prepare cash-flow forecasts

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field
• 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in HVAC, trading, contracting, maintenance or a similar industry
• Familiarity with Qatari labour, taxation and commercial regulations is preferred
• Good English; Arabic is an advantage

• Accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliation and financial reporting
• Accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally, Zoho Books, SAP or similar ERP systems
• MS Excel, including formulas, pivot tables and financial reporting
