Chief Steward

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Chief Steward to lead the stewarding operations at Banana Island Resort Doha. The role ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation across all back‑of‑house areas while supporting seamless food‑and‑beverage service.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the stewarding team and daily operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchens, dishwashing areas, stores, and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, health regulations, and HACCP standards.
• Oversee dishwashing operations, equipment handling, and utensil care.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and stewarding equipment.
• Coordinate waste management and recycling procedures.
• Schedule staff shifts, assign duties, and train team members on cleaning, safety, and hygiene protocols.
• Support banquet and restaurant operations during events and peak periods.
• Conduct regular inspections to uphold operational standards.
• Collaborate with chefs and F&B teams to ensure smooth workflow.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Chief Steward or Stewarding Supervisor in a hotel or hospitality setting.
• Strong knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality certification is a plus.
• Minimum 3–5 years of stewarding experience preferred.
