Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

About the role

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist provides high‑quality, evidence‑based psychiatric care to children and teenagers within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. The role involves diagnosing, managing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and reassess in‑patients and out‑patients regularly, following best practice guidelines.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to develop safe, holistic care plans.
• Review investigation results, modify treatment plans, and order appropriate therapeutics and diagnostics.
• Document clinical information promptly and accurately according to hospital procedures.
• Provide on‑call coverage on a rotating basis and ensure compliance with admission, discharge and follow‑up protocols.
• Engage in teaching medical students, residents and fellows, and contribute to research initiatives aligned with the institution’s vision.

Required profile

• MD, MBBS or equivalent degree with residency training in Psychiatry.
• Subspecialty fellowship or certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Minimum 2 years post‑certification experience in child and adolescent psychiatry.
• Commitment to continued medical education and academic activities.
