Contracts Engineer – EPC/Oil & Gas (Permanent)

About the role

The Contracts Engineer will provide comprehensive contract support to the management and project teams, ensuring all EPC, oil & gas, and related agreements are accurately prepared, reviewed, and administered. This permanent position is based in Ras Laffan, Qatar.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, negotiate, and manage contracts, change orders, and subcontractor agreements.
• Support DOPET management in handling major change orders, claims, and negotiations.
• Prepare, edit, and review contracts between clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Analyze contract documents, extract critical terms, and ensure compliance.
• Create organized summaries of essential clauses for easy reference.
• Administer daily contractual requirements, claim reporting, and variation progress.
• Handle contract breaches promptly and conduct detailed risk assessments.
• Ensure adherence to quality, health, safety, security, and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quantity surveying, construction management, law or a related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in Oil & Gas EPC projects.
• Proven experience as a Contracts Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of contract law, risk management, and negotiation.
• Attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Preferred certifications: CPCM (Certified Professional Contract Manager) or CCM.
