Data Governance Specialist

About the role

Capco is seeking a Data Governance Specialist to help financial‑services clients establish robust data governance across their organisations. You will collaborate with business, technology, risk and regulatory stakeholders to design frameworks, improve data quality and ensure consistent data lifecycle management.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement data governance frameworks, policies, standards and operating models aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
• Establish clear data ownership, stewardship and accountability across business and technology teams.
• Support data quality initiatives by defining critical data elements, quality rules, controls, monitoring and remediation processes.
• Strengthen metadata management, data lineage, classification and lifecycle practices.
• Translate governance requirements into practical solutions and drive stakeholder adoption.

Required profile

• Strong experience in data governance, data management, data quality, metadata or related disciplines.
• Practical knowledge of governance frameworks, policies, standards, controls and operating models.
• Proven ability to work with business, technology, risk, compliance and data stakeholders to deliver initiatives.
• Deep understanding of data ownership, stewardship, quality management, metadata, lineage and regulatory expectations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
