Delivery Director - Energy (Oil & Gas & Power)

About the role

A senior Delivery Director, Energy is sought to lead major oil and gas and power projects from opportunity assessment and FEED through investment decision, execution, commissioning and start-up. The portfolio covers upstream, midstream, downstream, pipelines, refineries, petrochemicals and power generation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical due diligence and project deliverability assessments.
• Direct pre-FEED and FEED activities.
• Develop project execution and contracting strategies.
• Lead or oversee EPC and EPCM tendering and delivery.
• Manage owner's oversight of engineering, procurement, construction, HSE, quality, changes and claims.
• Lead commissioning, start-up, performance testing and handover.
• Monitor project cost, schedule, risks and recovery plans.

Required profile

• 15+ years in oil and gas capital projects, with strong experience in upstream, midstream and/or downstream.
• 5+ years as owner's Project Director, PMT Lead or Head of Projects.
• Must have led at least one USD 1bn+ asset through investment decision, execution and start-up as the owner's accountable lead.
• Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Petroleum Engineering.
• Experience delivering projects in high-risk or post-conflict environments.

Required skills

• Strong pre-FEED, FEED and investment decision experience.
• Senior delivery experience with or alongside tier-one EPC contractors.
• FEL, AACE estimate classes, P50/P90, EPC/EPCM contracting, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, pre-start-up safety review and performance testing.
• Deep technical expertise in at least one major energy area, with enough working knowledge across the others to lead specialist teams.
