Electrical Engineer – Engineering Fixed Facilities

About the role

Saipem Qatar is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Engineering Fixed Facilities department. Reporting to the Electrical Manager, the role will support the design, bidding and execution of electrical systems for major energy and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical discipline engineering activities in accordance with project requirements, schedule and quality standards.
• Ensure timely exchange of information with all project interfaces and implement Saipem operating guidelines.
• Provide technical support during development, feasibility studies and commercial phases.
• Analyse tender documentation, participate in electrical system design reviews and identify technical queries, deviations and alternatives.
• Define and issue requests for quotation, prepare bill of quantities and support cost estimation for erection works.
• Review client technical documentation, define electrical engineering requirements and prepare project design criteria.
• Develop single‑line diagrams, perform power demand, load‑flow, short‑circuit, transient stability and motor‑starting studies to size equipment.
• Prepare relay and metering schemes, conduct protective‑relay coordination studies and define functional philosophies for power management, synchronization, load shedding and system restart.
• Produce technical specifications, data sheets and other documentation for electrical equipment and materials.

• Reports to the Electrical Manager within Saipem Qatar’s Engineering Fixed Facilities department.
