English Teacher (Secondary) – GCSE/IGCSE & A-Level

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Secondary English Teacher to join GEMS Wellington School – Qatar. The successful candidate will deliver GCSE/IGCSE and AS/A Level English Literature to a diverse student body, fostering an inclusive and high‑performing learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the British curriculum for GCSE/IGCSE and A‑Level English.
• Utilise evidence‑based pedagogy and the High‑Performance Learning (HPL) philosophy to raise student standards.
• Support an inclusive classroom, adapting teaching methods to meet varied learner needs.
• Contribute to the school’s extracurricular programme to develop well‑rounded students.
• Collaborate with the English department and wider faculty to maintain high expectations and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in secondary English.
• Relevant teaching degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Passion for the English language and a commitment to student achievement.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
• Enthusiasm for professional development and career progression.
