Equipment Supervisor – Airport Operations

About the role

The Equipment Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance and personnel involved in rubber removal and surface‑cleaning activities on runways, taxiways and aprons at Hamad International Airport and Doha International Airport. The role ensures full compliance with aviation safety regulations, maximises equipment performance and coordinates efficient scheduling to maintain runway friction standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate preventive‑maintenance schedules for all pavement‑maintenance equipment with the Motor Transport Section.
• Manage equipment breakdowns and corrective repairs to minimise downtime during peak periods.
• Conduct scheduled inspections and monitoring programmes to keep vehicles and equipment in safe, operational condition.
• Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities, parts replacements and performance parameters.
• Organise training for operators on safe use of sweepers, friction testers, rubber‑removal machines and blowers.
• Develop and present equipment KPI reports with the line manager.
• Control inventory of spare parts, consumables and tools, optimising stock levels.
• Liaise with suppliers and OEMs for timely repairs, calibrations and upgrades.
• Operate mechanical sweepers and rubber‑removal equipment when required.
• Analyse equipment availability reports and adjust service schedules.
• Lead adverse‑weather recalibration exercises and update emergency‑protocol training.
• Facilitate toolbox talks and ensure high safety standards throughout all activities.

Required profile

• High School, vocational qualification or diploma with at least 3 years of relevant experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Required skills

• Operation of mechanical sweepers, rubber‑removal equipment and friction testers.
• Preventive‑maintenance scheduling and equipment inspection.
• Inventory management of spare parts and consumables.
• KPI reporting and performance analysis.
