Fire Alarm & Mass Notification Technician

About the role

Intrepid Acquisition Holdings, LLC (IAH) is hiring a Fire Alarm & Mass Notification Technician to inspect, service, maintain and repair fire alarm and suppression systems, such as wet sprinklers and kitchen extinguishing equipment. The position involves 100% travel to the deployed location and requires a DoD Secret clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, service, maintain and repair fire alarm and suppression systems
• Identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair
• Ensure work complies with relevant codes
• Develop and implement procedures to prevent defective services from recurring
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• NICET Certified Level I for inspection, testing and maintenance of fire alarm systems
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in engineering highly desired
• At least five years of experience in the fire protection/life safety industry, including fire alarm and suppression field as journeyman and/or foreman
• Extensive knowledge of sprinkler systems (wet, kitchen extinguishing, etc.)
• Valid U.S. driver's license; U.S. passport preferred
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid residency visa for Qatar
• Must hold and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and meet USCENTCOM deployment policy requirements
• Able to work in extreme conditions, including dust and high temperatures, and to endure long hours and hazardous conditions

Required skills

• High-level knowledge of the National Fire Alarm Code and pertinent UFC codes
• Ability to read, interpret and apply system design plans, building construction drawings and documents
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team on maintenance, testing, repairs and troubleshooting
• Maintain NICET Level I certification for fire alarms, special hazard systems and inspection/testing of water-based systems
