Fraud Monitoring Analyst

About the role

The Fraud Monitoring Analyst works within the Bank's 24/7 Fraud Operations function, continuously monitoring, investigating, and escalating suspicious transactions. This position ensures compliance with QCB AFCM requirements and serves as the first line of operational fraud response outside normal business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Perform continuous (365/7/24) monitoring of fraud alerts generated by the system or received through other channels.
• Review, triage, and prioritize alerts based on risk‑based thresholds and escalation criteria.
• Contact customers when required to verify transactions, confirm legitimacy, and gather relevant information using approved scripts.
• Escalate high‑risk, confirmed, or complex cases immediately to senior analysts according to escalation matrices and response timelines.
• Document all actions accurately in fraud case management systems and registers.
• Act as the operational contact for fraud reports received outside normal business hours and handle communications from customers, financial institutions, and payment service providers.
• Maintain strict confidentiality, data privacy, and professionalism in all interactions.
• Support permanent staff by preparing complete case information and providing analysis of fraud detection parameters.

Required profile

• Experience in fraud monitoring, financial crime investigation, or related banking operations.
• Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and external partners.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as QCB AFCM and adherence to internal controls.
