Information Technology Technical Specialist

About the role

Baker Tilly Qatar is looking for a skilled, service-oriented IT Technical Support Specialist to join its team in Doha. The role provides reliable, timely technical support to employees across the organisation, covering hardware, software, network and system issues, user access, IT assets, onboarding and offboarding, information security and IT improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-level technical support to employees and respond to incidents and service requests within agreed service levels.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network and system issues, remotely and on site.
• Set up, configure and maintain laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, mobile devices and other IT equipment.
• Install and configure operating systems, applications, security software and business applications; support Microsoft 365, Outlook and Teams.
• Troubleshoot network, Wi-Fi, VPN, internet and connectivity issues.
• Manage user accounts, passwords and access permissions, and assist with onboarding and offboarding.
• Maintain IT asset records, incident logs and technical documentation, and prepare user guides.
• Support IT security controls, system updates and cybersecurity requirements, and report security incidents.
• Coordinate with external IT vendors and support IT projects and improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in IT technical support, helpdesk, system support or a similar role.
• Experience supporting multiple users in a professional or corporate environment.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware, software, network and Microsoft 365 issues.
• IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft or ITIL are an advantage; experience with external IT vendors is also an advantage.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365.
• Knowledge of Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi).
• Understanding of IT security and data protection principles.
