Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Technician

About the role

The Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Technician is responsible for maintaining and optimizing field instrumentation and control systems within construction projects. The role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and support for commissioning activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance on field instruments.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system failures and repair or replace defective components.
• Install, calibrate and test pressure transmitters, flow meters, level transmitters, temperature instruments, and various analyzers.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, RTU, HMI, SCADA, DCS and control panels, supporting commissioning and startup activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certificate in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or Automation Technology.
• Additional certifications in PLC/SCADA or instrumentation are advantageous.

Required skills

• Knowledge of PROFIBUS communication protocols and troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience with PROFIBUS‑based process instrumentation such as pressure, level, differential pressure transmitters and electromagnetic flowmeters.
• Familiarity with Festo panels, Siemens PLCs and Yokogawa CENTUM VP DCS.
• Hands‑on use of diagnostic and calibration tools including ProfiTrace devices, pressure calibrators and deadweight testers.
• Working experience with analyzer instrumentation (chlorine, pH, ORP, hardness, conductivity).
• Ability to read and interpret control wiring diagrams, I/O lists and P&IDs.
