Lead Civil Engineer (Facilities Management)

About the role

The Lead Civil Engineer leads and manages all civil engineering maintenance activities within the Facilities Management portfolio, ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, refurbishment and lifecycle management of buildings and infrastructure assets. The role delivers high-quality hard FM services, supervises maintenance teams and contractors and ensures compliance with safety, quality and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise civil maintenance across assigned facilities, including planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance (CM).
• Conduct regular facility inspections and condition assessments, and develop maintenance strategies to improve asset performance and extend asset life.
• Review and approve technical reports, work orders, method statements and risk assessments.
• Monitor contractor performance against contractual KPIs and SLAs, and coordinate refurbishment, renovation, fit-out and minor projects, preparing scopes of work, BOQs, technical specifications and cost estimates.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, HSE requirements and company standards, and liaise with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor maintenance budgets, support CAFM/CMMS systems, and lead technical investigations and root cause analyses.
• Mentor engineers, supervisors and technicians.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• UPDA/MMUP Certified Engineer (mandatory).
• PMP certification is an advantage.
