Lead Civil Engineer

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is hiring a Lead Civil Engineer in Qatar, reporting to the Project Manager or Engineering Manager. The role oversees, coordinates and manages all civil engineering activities on assigned projects, ensuring designs, construction works and deliverables meet contractual, regulatory and quality standards. It calls for strong technical expertise, leadership skills and experience with complex civil engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design review, development and approval of civil and structural works, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, standards and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, consultants and contractors.
• Provide technical guidance on structural integrity, materials selection and construction methods; review and approve drawings, calculations and reports.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress against approved designs and schedules.
• Resolve technical issues during construction and oversee quality control.
• Prepare and manage project schedules, budgets and resource allocations, and liaise with clients, authorities and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards, including MME/UPDA requirements, and maintain quality assurance procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• MME/UPDA license (mandatory).
• Minimum 10 years' experience in a similar senior civil engineering position, preferably in infrastructure, utilities or large-scale construction.
• Leadership, team management, problem-solving, communication and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Civil and structural engineering design principles.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD or equivalent.
• Familiarity with project management tools and techniques.
