Lead HVAC Engineer

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is hiring a Lead HVAC Engineer in Qatar, within its Engineering / MEP Projects department. The engineer leads the design, coordination and implementation of HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications, industry standards and regulatory requirements, and works closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and review of HVAC systems, including load calculations, ductwork, piping and equipment selection, in line with ASHRAE standards, Qatar Civil Defense requirements and project specifications
• Approve detailed engineering drawings, technical reports and material submittals
• Coordinate HVAC designs with architectural, structural, electrical and plumbing teams, and work with consultants, contractors and suppliers
• Monitor project schedules, budgets and deliverables
• Inspect sites for installation quality, resolve technical issues during construction and oversee testing, commissioning and handover
• Ensure compliance with MME/UPDA requirements, local codes and environmental standards, and promote energy-efficient designs
• Follow and enforce health and safety protocols, and prepare technical reports and project documentation

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• MME/UPDA license (mandatory)
• Minimum 10 years in a senior HVAC engineering role, preferably on large-scale commercial, industrial or infrastructure projects
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and communication skills; able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• HAP, Carrier E20, AutoCAD and Revit MEP
• Ventilation, chilled water, DX systems, VRF/VRV and air distribution
• ASHRAE, SMACNA and NFPA knowledge
