Lead Verification of Competence (VOC) Supervisor

About the role

EnerMech is seeking a Lead VOC Supervisor to coordinate, schedule, and oversee the QE LNG Verification of Competence program for lifting operations personnel. The role ensures all assessments, coaching, simulator activities and reporting are delivered to QE LNG standards and EnerMech procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate VOC assessment activities across multiple project locations, managing daily deployment of coaches and assessors.
• Ensure assessments follow approved criteria, maintain auditable records, and monitor compliance with QE LNG lifting procedures.
• Oversee coaching, remediation and reassessment for “Not Yet Competent” personnel and support competency dashboards.
• Manage simulator scheduling, scenario alignment with risk exposure, and integration of Banksman/Slinger assessments.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of lifting operations experience in oil & gas, construction, LNG or offshore environments.
• At least 5 years in supervisory or competency‑management roles, with proven experience delivering VOC or similar competency assurance schemes.
• Relevant lifting operations qualification, recognized supervision certification and valid HSE certification (IOSH/NEBOSH preferred).

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of QE LNG lifting standards, LOLER, BS7121 and crane operation procedures.
• Experience with PTW systems, SIMOPS management, lift planning, risk assessment and crane load chart calculations.
• Competency assurance and workforce governance systems, including assessment moderation and calibration.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting tools; familiarity with simulator‑based assessment environments is a plus.
