LOTO Supervisor – Electrical Isolation Specialist

About the role

The LOTO Supervisor will lead all Lockout/Tagout activities on site, ensuring safe isolation of hazardous energy sources across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. This position works closely with multidisciplinary teams to maintain compliance with Qatar safety regulations and project-specific procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all LOTO activities at the project site, verifying isolation points are locked, tagged and documented before work starts.
• Review, implement and update approved LOTO procedures, isolation plans and energy‑control requirements.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Operations, HSE and Commissioning teams to ensure safe isolation and compliance with Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) systems.
• Conduct LOTO briefings and toolbox talks, and maintain accurate LOTO registers, isolation certificates and lock/tag records.
• Verify zero‑energy conditions before authorising work, and oversee safe removal of locks and tags after completion.
• Support LOTO activities during testing, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, energisation and de‑energisation phases.
• Identify residual energy hazards, enforce control measures and stop unsafe work when violations occur.
• Participate in safety inspections, audits, incident investigations and LOTO compliance reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a LOTO Supervisor on major industrial, oil & gas, power, water‑treatment or desalination projects.
• Familiarity with Qatar Energy LNG project requirements and local HSE regulations is an advantage.
