Massage Therapist

About the role

A full-time, non-management Massage Therapist position at a Le Méridien hotel in Lusail, Qatar. The therapist provides massage and body treatments to guests, assesses their needs and contraindications, and promotes spa and salon services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide massage services using props and/or products, and body treatments such as scrubs, wraps and hydrotherapy.
• Assess guest needs and ask about contraindications (allergies, high blood pressure, pregnancy) before starting.
• Keep up to date with current techniques and modalities in the field.
• Escort guests to and from treatment rooms, arrange workstations, rooms and drapes, and check frequently with guests for comfort, safety and security.
• Promote and sell spa and salon services, including retail offerings.
• Clean, maintain and sterilize tools, keep the workspace tidy, dispose of trash and linens, and secure supplies at the end of each shift.
• Follow the time schedule, handle inappropriate guest behaviour according to Marriott International procedures, and report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to the manager.
• Maintain current skills and licensure, follow company policies, keep a professional appearance and protect confidential information.

Required profile

• State or regional massage license or certification.
• Preferred: a technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Preferred: at least 1 year of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• Ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods and to lift objects up to 10 pounds.
• Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
