Massage Therapist

About the role

A full-time, non-management Massage Therapist position at a W Hotel in Doha, Qatar. The therapist provides massage and body treatments to guests, promotes spa services and keeps up to date with current techniques and modalities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide massage services using props and/or products, and body treatments using scrubs, wraps and/or hydrotherapy
• Assess guest needs and ask about contraindications such as allergies, high blood pressure and pregnancy before starting
• Escort guests to and from treatment rooms and arrange workstations, rooms and drapes
• Check frequently with guests to promote comfort, safety and security
• Promote and sell spa and salon services, including retail offerings
• Clean, maintain and sterilize tools, keep the workspace tidy and dispose of trash and dirty linens
• Follow the time schedule and handle inappropriate guest behaviour according to Marriott International procedures, up to and including stopping a treatment and informing the supervisor
• Maintain current skills and licensure, report accidents and injuries, and follow company policies and confidentiality rules

Required profile

• State or regional massage license or certification
• Preferred: a technical, trade or vocational school degree
• Preferred: at least 1 year of related work experience
• No supervisory experience required

Required skills

• Ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods and to lift objects up to 10 pounds
• Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills
