Mechanical Senior Supervisor

About the role

The Mechanical Senior Supervisor leads a team of technicians in performing detailed maintenance, inspection and fault‑resolution activities on the Typhoon aircraft and its components. This senior position requires deep technical knowledge, strong supervisory skills and the ability to work within a regulated aerospace environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out and supervise detailed maintenance, inspection and modification tasks on Typhoon aircraft and components.
• Ensure all work complies with approved technical data, work packages and regulatory frameworks.
• Diagnose and resolve system faults, manage configuration changes and raise ad‑hoc work cards for found faults.
• Maintain personal task authorizations and ensure team members hold the required competencies.
• Oversee support activities such as tooling control, oversight checks and compliance with Functionally Mandated Procedures.
• Provide guidance, leadership and formal development for junior staff, including on‑the‑job training and performance reviews.
• Maintain a personal logbook, sign off on others' logbooks within trade limits, and perform assessor duties where applicable.

Required profile

• Extensive experience as a mechanical technician and supervisor in aerospace or defence.
• Excellent understanding of approved technical data sets and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to analyse, diagnose and rectify aircraft system faults.
• Strong team‑leadership and communication skills in a dynamic operational environment.
• Flexibility, proactive attitude and ability to follow direction appropriately.
