Mechanical Technician – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join its motivated maintenance team. You will ensure the smooth operation of all mechanical, plumbing and related systems across the hotel and retail areas, supporting a high‑standard guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, clean, maintain and repair mechanical and plumbing installations.
• Maintain lighting, HVAC units, motors, belts, bearings and shop tools.
• Assist the Security Manager with life‑safety equipment, pumps and emergency diesel generators.
• Troubleshoot and repair non‑operational equipment, perform welding as needed.
• Respond to service calls, execute work orders and coordinate with other trades.
• Conduct chemical tests on boilers, chillers and swimming pools.
• Operate the Building Management System (BMS) and participate in fire‑response duties.
• Carry out preventive maintenance according to the engineering schedule.
• Order replacement parts, maintain stock levels and manage vendor contacts.

Required profile

• Relevant building‑maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel environment.
• Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
• Highly responsible, reliable and able to work independently.
• Professional demeanor and clean appearance, especially in guest‑facing areas.

Required skills

• HVAC and plumbing maintenance.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair (motors, belts, bearings).
• Welding.
• BMS operation.
• PLC troubleshooting.
• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
