Munitions Shift Supervisor

About the role

The Munitions Shift Supervisor leads the daily production activities of a munitions department, ensuring safe receipt, storage, inspection, maintenance, reconstitution and shipping of munitions and MMHE. Reporting to the Munitions Superintendent, the supervisor coordinates shift personnel, schedules, and compliance with all technical and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Munitions Superintendent in managing safety, training and quality‑control programs.
• Plan and approve production schedules, ensuring alignment with daily timelines, special taskers and contingency support.
• Operate the Theater Integrated Combat Munitions System (TICMS) to track and document all production actions.
• Verify that all accountability documentation is completed and submitted on time.
• Identify limiting factors, advise on corrective actions and monitor personnel performance.
• Conduct surveillance audits, end‑of‑shift facility security checks, and compliance analysis for TCTOs and delayed maintenance.
• Track and ensure completion of required training for all shift personnel.
• Oversee safe operation and maintenance of light vehicles and support equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, manual hoists).
• Calculate and enforce net explosives limits for storage and operating locations.
• Perform visual inspections of lightning protection and static‑ground systems and report changes to Munitions Control.

Required profile

• Extensive experience as a Munitions Inspector/Technician.
• Strong knowledge of AFMAN 21‑200, DAFMAN 21‑201 and related SOPs.
• Proven ability to manage safety, training and quality programs in a high‑risk environment.
• Effective communication skills for reporting to senior leadership.
