Operations Support Specialist

About the role

The Group Securities, a brokerage firm and investment organization licensed by the Qatar Financial Markets Authority, is looking for an Operations Support Specialist. The role covers day-to-day system operations, first-level support and incident handling, with coordination across business, development, quality and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor all systems using monitoring applications and provide daily reports on system errors or problems.
• Take corrective actions such as starting standby systems, and work as first-level support for the systems.
• Search for the root cause of problems using logs and service status, and report and follow up issues until they are solved.
• Ensure accurate monitoring, logging, metrics and alerting of systems.
• Create, follow up and coordinate new changes through the change management policy with Business, Development, Quality and Operations.
• Document operational functions and maintain an updated operational manual.
• Continuously search for and test alternate solutions and new technologies to improve system and business performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
• 4 years of experience with software and information systems, including 1 year with financial systems.
• IT operations experience; strong project management skills.
• Very good Arabic and English.
• Preferred: ITIL certification, PMP certification, knowledge of information security policies, and ability to analyse business needs and workflows.

Required skills

• SQL and programming; Oracle DB experience preferred.
• IT operations, systems monitoring and management tools, and troubleshooting.
• Preferred: cloud technologies (Google, Azure, AWS), containers, DevOps, UNIX/Linux.
