Optometrist

About the role

Qatar Optics is urgently hiring a qualified and experienced Optometrist in Doha. The role covers eye examinations, refraction, contact lens fitting and patient advice within an optical clinic, working closely with the optical team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments, and perform accurate refraction and prescribe corrective lenses.
• Fit contact lenses and give patients related guidance.
• Assess ocular health, identify conditions needing referral, and recommend lenses, frames and other optical products.
• Explain examination results and prescriptions clearly, and handle insurance processing and claims for optical services.
• Maintain patient records and ensure professional customer service.
• Work with the optical team on daily clinic and retail operations, maintain equipment and follow professional licensing requirements.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Optometry from a recognised institution.
• Valid QHP license or eligibility, and relevant optometrist experience.
• Knowledge of insurance processing and claims.
• Valid transferable visa and NOC required.
• Strong communication skills, customer-focused attitude, ability to work independently and in a team, and flexibility with working hours and a busy retail environment.

• Salary of QAR 4,500 to 5,000 per month.
