Paralegal Officer – Criminal Case Management

About the role

The Paralegal Officer will manage end‑to‑end criminal case files for the bank, ensuring accurate documentation, timely legal actions, and coordination with internal units, authorities, and external law firms. This role supports the legal department with administrative tasks, legal reviews, and advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and acknowledge newly initiated criminal files and post‑dated cheques, verifying all accompanying documents.
• Review hand‑over documentation, update the RCS legal system, and approve cases for further action.
• Classify cheques (post‑dated, returned), maintain detailed Excel registers, and store original cheques securely.
• Monitor cheque posting, ensuring compliance with validity periods.
• Prepare physical case files, upload scanned documents to RCS, and keep records up to date.
• Draft and submit formal police complaints, follow up for case numbers, and record updates.
• Archive complaint documents, original cheques, and related advice in both physical and digital stores.
• Track judicial hearings, provide weekly schedules, and follow up on prosecution matters.

Required profile

• Qatari national or child of a Qatari mother.
• Experience handling criminal case files and banking cheque processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate legal records.
• Capability to coordinate with police, courts, and external law firms.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking.
• Familiarity with the RCS legal case management system.
• Knowledge of cheque classification and banking documentation procedures.
