Piping Flexibility Engineer (Stress Analysis)

About the role

Saipem is hiring a Piping Flexibility Engineer (stress analysis) for its Engineering Fixed Facilities Department in Qatar. The engineer reports to the Piping & Layout Lead and coordinates technical activities, ensuring stress analysis designs of piping networks are sound both technically and economically.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate technical activities inside and outside Saipem and refer to the project piping and layout lead and the head of the piping flexibility section.
• Ensure good stress analysis design of piping networks and issue the technical part of inquiries, bid analysis and orders for piping supports components.
• Estimate quantities and costs for critical supports and review client technical documentation and requirements.
• Design piping supports components, issue flexibility specifications and critical lines lists, and perform calculations of critical piping networks.
• Issue loads for pipe racks and foundations, prepare technical requisitions, evaluate bids and approve vendor documents.
• Maintain project technical files, check isometrics for critical lines and coordinate inter-discipline checks.
• Inform the project leader of technical or cost impacts and delays, and assist engineering adjustments on site during construction and start-up.
• Support projects and procurements, define workflow and technical standard changes, collect lessons learned, qualify vendors and help plan outsourcing engineering centers.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5-10 years in Piping and Layout engineering.
• Proficiency in English.
• Experience with operation follow-up, offshore and onshore, and EPC projects.

Required skills

• Office suite, including Microsoft Project.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
