Senior Planning Engineer

About the role

An experienced Senior Planning Engineer is sought to support the planning and project controls function across a portfolio of large-scale real estate and construction developments. The role covers establishing and maintaining project schedules, monitoring progress, identifying schedule risks and delivering accurate reporting to support management decisions. It requires strong expertise in Primavera P6, project controls, schedule analysis and coordination with consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project progress against approved master programmes, baselines and key milestones.
• Review contractor and consultant schedules, look-ahead programmes, resource plans and recovery schedules.
• Track progress, productivity and performance metrics, including variance analysis, earned value analysis and schedule forecasting.
• Identify critical path impacts, schedule risks and delays, and provide proactive recommendations; perform delay analysis, time-impact assessments and recovery planning.
• Coordinate planning across design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and handover, and monitor interfaces and authority approval milestones.
• Prepare monthly progress reports and executive dashboards, maintain auditable records, and support the adoption of digital and AI-enabled tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
• Minimum 8 years of planning and project controls experience on large-scale construction or development projects.
• Proven experience with developers, consultants, PMCs or tier-one contractors, across the full project lifecycle.
• GCC or Qatar project experience highly preferred.
• PMP, PMI-SP, AACE PSP or similar project controls certification preferred.

Required skills

• Primavera P6 planning and scheduling (mandatory)
• Integrated master programme, baseline management and CPM analysis
• Earned Value Management (EVM), float analysis and delay analysis
• Resource and look-ahead planning, advanced Excel, Power BI and project reporting tools
• Knowledge of AI-driven project controls and familiarity with 4D planning and BIM integration are an advantage
