Planning Lead - Offshore Compression (Qatar)

About the role

A major oil and gas operator is looking for a Planning Lead specialising in offshore compression, recruited through Airswift. The role is on a residential basis in Qatar, 6 days a week and 10 hours a day, on a 36-month contract with potential for extension and a start date typically within 1 month of notice.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules reflecting the approved design and execution scope, and integrate contractor, subcontractor, vendor and supplier schedules into the overall EPC schedule.
• Review contractor progress reports and EPC schedules for accuracy, logic, detail and interfaces, and monitor contractor performance against control plans.
• Evaluate project changes for schedule impact and incorporate approved changes; advise on schedule issues and verify corrective actions.
• Monitor and control confidential schedule and cost data, prepare cost reports and analysis, and formulate cost improvement recommendations.
• Hold periodic meetings with the contractor, review progress and report project status to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Accounting, Business Management / Administration or a commercial discipline.
• At least 8 years' experience in project scheduling and controls for EPC oil and gas capital projects, including at least 7 years in site/field scheduling.
• Experience developing work methods in line with company policy, management directives, schedules and professional engineering standards.
• Ability to work with limited supervision, adapt to tight deadlines and frequent changes, and communicate fluently in English.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of project controls principles and concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Primavera P6 version 18 and above.
• Advanced knowledge of Schedule Risk Analysis tools such as Primavera Schedule Risk Analysis.
• Strong planning, organisational and prioritising skills, and good negotiation and influencing skills.
