Planning Manager

About the role

The Planning Manager oversees project planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting across multiple construction projects. Working closely with project and construction managers, consultants and contractors, the role ensures programmes are accurate, up‑to‑date and that any delays or risks are identified early.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and maintain detailed project programmes, master and baseline schedules for several projects.
• Establish Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), milestones, activity sequencing and dependencies.
• Review contractors’ baseline, revised and recovery schedules and monitor progress against them.
• Identify delays, critical activities and schedule risks through critical path analysis.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, look‑ahead schedules and management presentations.
• Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, commercial teams and contractors to obtain accurate progress data.
• Recommend corrective actions and recovery measures when projects fall behind.
• Support delay analysis, claims assessment and schedule‑related contractual matters.
• Maintain accurate planning records, schedule updates and supporting documentation.
• Consolidate planning information for portfolio‑level reporting to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related engineering discipline.
• 12–15 years of experience in project planning, scheduling and project controls.
• At least 5 years of experience leading planning activities on large‑scale construction projects.
• Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on risk identification and mitigation.
