Procurement Engineer – Qatar

About the role

You will work on‑base in Qatar as the procurement lead for all Dukhan activities, partnering closely with the QEAF customer to ensure efficient, compliant delivery of procurement requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary procurement focal point, managing supplier performance and driving continuous improvement in cost, quality and service.
• Implement a tailored Dukhan Procurement Plan while ensuring full compliance with BAE Systems governance, policies and processes.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with Qatari suppliers to support current operational needs and future programme requirements.
• Collaborate with requirement owners and stakeholders to accurately communicate and deliver end‑user needs.
• Prepare, manage and secure approval for procurement documentation such as DFMs, Purchase Orders, Payment Plans, Certificates of Acceptance and invoices.
• Provide procurement expertise throughout the sourcing and contract‑management lifecycle to ensure value for money and supply continuity.

Required profile

• MCIPS Level 5 qualified or actively working towards it, with solid understanding of procurement best practices and governance.
• Experience in a procurement‑focused role (e.g., Procurement Engineer, Specialist, Buyer) managing end‑to‑end sourcing and supplier relationships.
• Proven experience operating in a highly regulated environment such as defence, aerospace, oil & gas or energy.
• Working knowledge of procurement legislation, export control, labour regulations and commercial governance frameworks.
• Ability to engage, negotiate and build relationships with suppliers across multiple countries and cultures.
