Senior Accountant – Finance Operations

About the role

Talabat is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. The role involves managing the full spectrum of accounting activities, including payables, receivables, general ledger, and month‑end closing, while ensuring compliance with IFRS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Process account payable transactions, verify invoices, and ensure proper authorization.
• Maintain and reconcile the accounts payable trial balance during month‑end closing.
• Assist the Financial Control Manager in consolidating monthly and yearly financial statements and preparing the annual report under IFRS.
• Prepare, review and distribute payable financial reports and billing documents, specifying payment terms and due dates.
• Manage cash and cheque payments, perform bank deposits and reconcile accounts receivable on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis.
• Generate financial statements, age analysis reports and collection status reports using IFRS guidelines.
• Maintain general ledger accounts, post journal entries for accruals and variances, and ensure all postings comply with IFRS.
• Support year‑end and quarterly audit activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in finance or accounting.
• Strong time‑management, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English.
• Customer‑service orientation and strong organizational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
