Senior Business Improvement Analyst (Qatari)

About the role

Hamad International Airport is looking for a Senior Business Improvement Analyst in Doha. The role improves operational efficiency by analysing and redesigning processes, working with stakeholders, managing projects and running continuous-improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse, redesign and document baggage handling system (BHS) operational and business processes, and recommend and implement process changes for new initiatives, system changes and organisational changes.
• Lead continuous improvement projects (Lean, Six Sigma/DMAIC, Kaizen) to improve system availability, reduce operating costs and improve passenger and baggage service quality.
• Produce weekly and monthly KPI and performance reports (system availability, SLA compliance, mishandled bags, MTBF/MTTR) and external benchmarking to support management decisions.
• Manage delivery of BHS, PLB and BME O&M contracts, monitoring contractors and suppliers against SLAs, spare parts and manpower deployment, and driving corrective actions.
• Prepare procurement documents (business case, SOW, technical specifications, BOQ, evaluation criteria, RFI) and support tendering, technical evaluation and contract award.
• Estimate and propose CAPEX/OPEX budgets for BHS expansions and enhancements, and track spend against the approved budget.
• Coordinate with operational partners and authorities (Qatar Airways, QAS, MOI, Customs, QCAA), airlines and ground handlers to align system availability with operational demand.
• Identify and manage process and project risks (SWOT, FMEA), support Business Continuity Management and emergency readiness, and support asset management alignment with ISO 55001 / SAMP, ISO 14001 EMS and QMS requirements, including audits and compliance.
• Represent BHS in special projects, system and process transitions and trials, and facilitate workshops and train staff, including Qatari nationals.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial), Business Administration or a related field with at least 4 years of job-related experience; or a Diploma / Vocational qualification with at least 5 years of experience.
• Qatari nationals: a Bachelor's degree is sufficient, with no prior experience required.
• Proven experience in airport operations, preferably Baggage Handling Systems, Hold Baggage Screening, PLB, GPU and PCA systems at a large international airport.
• Experience leading process and continuous improvement initiatives and preparing performance reports from operational data.
• Experience in contract management, procurement documentation and/or CAPEX/OPEX budget preparation.
• Good written and spoken English; able to support shift operations for set periods when required.

Required skills

• Preferred: Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), PMP / PRINCE2, or ISO 9001 / 55001 awareness.
• Advanced MS Office (Excel, Project, Visio, PowerPoint).
