Operations Control Resource Allocator

About the role

This is a non-supervisory position within Qatar Airways Group's cargo and airport operations, based in Doha. The resource allocator is accountable for allocating manpower across business areas so that the operational shift management can deliver a flexible allocation aligned with the daily roster, meeting the service level agreement. The role covers ground handling operations and below.

Key responsibilities

• Confirm resource availability for each shift from system updates and the roster, and assign flight-related tasks in line with business rules and staff qualifications.
• Run resource allocation in three phases: pre-planning 24 hours before the shift, shift planning at the start of the shift, and real-time adjustment to workload and unplanned tasks.
• Communicate allocations clearly, track task progress, and work with the shift management team, recommending replacements or overtime when needed.
• Prepare shift allocations for scheduled and unscheduled system outages, and help colleagues cover other business areas during shift changes.
• Perform other duties of the department as directed by the Head of Department.

Required profile

• High school qualification with at least 2 years of job-related experience, or a bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least 1 year of experience.
• Prior experience managing operational resource allocation systems, resource management or roster planning in high-volume staff areas.
• Strong analytical ability and good written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Time resource allocation systems and a high level of proficiency in MS Office.
• Preferred: familiarity with current resource allocation decision support systems, especially the Real Time Allocation system.
