Senior Civil Engineer

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is hiring a Senior Civil Engineer in Qatar, reporting to the Project Manager or Civil Engineering Manager. The engineer oversees civil engineering aspects of projects so that designs, construction works and deliverables meet contractual, regulatory and quality standards. The role combines office-based and site-based work, with exposure to construction sites and possibly extended hours depending on project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve civil engineering designs, drawings and calculations, and ensure compliance with project specifications, codes and industry standards.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and site teams.
• Supervise and monitor civil construction activities on site, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors and consultants, and keep tasks and schedules on track.
• Conduct site inspections, ensure compliance with MME/UPDA requirements and local regulations, and implement corrective actions for deviations.
• Prepare progress reports, site instructions and technical documentation, maintain records of design changes and approvals, and support project managers with technical insights.
• Promote safety standards, identify hazards and recommend preventive measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• MME/UPDA license (mandatory).
• Minimum of 5 years in a similar senior civil engineering role.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, ability to work independently and lead small teams, attention to detail and commitment to quality, safety and compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other civil engineering software.
• Knowledge of construction methodologies, materials and standards.
• Ability to read and interpret structural and civil drawings.
