Senior Civil Structural Engineer - Doha

About the role

This position is for a Senior Civil Structural Engineer based in Doha, acting as the main focal point and highest technical authority for civil and structural engineering matters. The role covers FEED and preliminary structural calculations, design reviews, contractor supervision and technical guidance across civil and structural projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide civil and structural engineering services and act as the main focal point and highest technical authority for all related matters.
• Carry out conceptual studies, FEED and preliminary structural calculations for civil/structural modifications, repairs, buildings, supports, underground drainage, paving, roads, foundations (static and dynamic loading) and structural steelwork.
• Review and prepare scopes of work and deliverables such as technical study reports, foundation and structural design calculations, GA drawings, detailed drawings, connection details, MTOs, specifications and architectural finishing details.
• Carry out feasibility studies and prepare/review ESRs and modification proposals (FMPs), and raise deviation requests where applicable.
• Supervise FEED, engineering, construction and EPC contractors on civil and structural activities, ensuring compliance with specifications, HSE&S standards and international codes and standards aligned with corporate policy.
• Manage detailed civil and structural design, including formulation and interpretation of engineering and material/construction specifications.
• Interface with engineering consultants and construction/EPC contractors, providing technical guidance so project requirements are understood and met.
• Review vendor and subcontractor drawings and documentation, comment on or approve them, and follow up with contractors until comments are incorporated.
• Review specifications, material requisitions, vendor selections and technical bids, approving or recommending to management according to the Document Distribution Matrix.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in civil, structural or engineering within the oil and gas industry or related engineering consultants and EPC contractors.

Required skills

• Proficiency in international codes such as ASTM and API.
• Structural analysis and dynamic foundation analysis.
• 3D modelling tools and software.
