Senior Data Engineer – Customer Experience Group

About the role

Agoda is looking for a Senior/Staff Data Engineer to join the Customer Experience Group (CEG). You will design, build and maintain the data and software foundations that power CEG business users, helping improve customer experience and operational efficiency across all contact channels.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest, transform and serve data from CEG systems (case management, telephony, chat, bots, QA tools, WFM, CRM) and third‑party sources.
• Develop and optimise data models, warehouse tables, marts and views that support reporting, monitoring, forecasting and experimentation.
• Implement data quality, validation, anomaly detection and observability for critical CEG datasets and metrics.
• Create internal data tools and products (self‑service analytics, dashboards, alerting systems, investigator tools) using Python, Java, Golang or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Collaborate with product, operations, analytics and engineering teams to translate business problems into reliable data solutions.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer or Data Analyst in a data‑driven environment.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex joins, window functions and query optimisation.
• Experience with major data‑warehouse or big‑data technologies such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, Hive or Spark.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language for data services (Python, Java, Golang, Kotlin or JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Hands‑on experience building production‑grade data pipelines with orchestration tools like Airflow or dbt.
