Senior Foul Water Hydraulic Modeller

About the role

Stantec is hiring a Senior Foul Water Hydraulic Modeller in Doha, Qatar. The role covers wet infrastructure projects such as wastewater, stormwater, potable water and recycled water systems, water and wastewater treatment, and flood management and water resources studies. You will develop, calibrate and analyse complex gravity sewerage hydraulic models to help clients plan, design and operate their sewerage assets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop hydraulic models for master planning, concept, preliminary and detailed design of wet infrastructure
• Review, organise and analyse collected data; carry out modelling, validation, calibration and verification with recognized software
• Develop hydraulic modelling method statements and reports, and check and review work done by others
• Draw maps in CAD and GIS to present modelling results
• Collaborate with peer engineers, other discipline teams, sub-consultants and sub-contractors, and liaise with clients and stakeholders
• Present and defend hydraulic modelling outputs, and support bid preparation including technical bids and level of effort estimates
• Follow safe work practices and company quality and health and safety procedures

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering from a recognized university
• 10+ years of experience in hydraulic modelling of foul water networks, including scenario simulation, calibration and capacity analysis
• Proven ability to develop and validate hydraulic models independently and contribute to strategic infrastructure solutions
• Professional accreditation (Chartered Engineer/PE or equivalent) from an internationally recognized body such as ICE, CIWEM or Engineer Australia, or working towards it
• Good client service, attention to detail, independent decision-making and strong teamwork
• Excellent command of English; Arabic is preferred

Required skills

• Advanced hydraulic modelling software such as InfoWorks ICM, InfoSWMM, SewerGEMS and InfoSewer
• Supporting tools such as AutoCAD and ArcGIS
• Experience with wet infrastructure design standards in GCC countries and local and international codes and specifications
