Senior Procurement Engineer - Oil & Gas

About the role

The Procurement Officer manages the procurement of materials, equipment and services needed to support the company's projects and operations, ensuring cost-effective purchasing, timely delivery, supplier performance and compliance with company policies and contracts. The successful candidate has extensive experience in Oil & Gas procurement and strong technical knowledge of engineered equipment and long lead items.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement process from requisition to purchase order, supplier follow-up, expediting and delivery.
• Source, evaluate and procure materials, engineered equipment and services according to project specifications.
• Prepare RFQs/RFPs, evaluate technical and commercial bids and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules and terms.
• Procure long lead items and major engineered equipment for Oil & Gas projects.
• Monitor supplier performance, manufacturing progress, inspections, documentation and delivery schedules.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and OEMs.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Projects, QA/QC, Logistics, Warehouse and Finance teams.
• Identify cost savings and process improvements, keep accurate records and comply with HSE requirements.
• Use SAP and other ERP/procurement systems for procurement and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of procurement experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proven end-to-end procurement experience, including sourcing, tendering, bid evaluation, negotiations, PO administration and expediting.
• Experience with long lead items and engineered equipment such as gas turbines, pumps, power transformers, fire & gas systems, steel pipes, valves, SCADA and rotating, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Experience handling multimillion-dollar procurement packages in EPC, EPIC or Oil & Gas projects.
• Professional procurement or supply chain certification is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of procurement, contract administration, supplier management, logistics coordination and supply chain processes.
• SAP and other ERP/procurement systems.
