Senior Welding Inspector (CSWIP 3.2.2)

About the role

A highly skilled Senior Welding Inspector with CSWIP 3.2.2 certification is sought to join a team in Qatar. The role covers welding inspection, quality control and non-destructive testing (NDT) in oil and gas processing facilities, including construction and in-plant inspections, compliance with QatarEnergy safety regulations and work within Permit to Work (PTW) systems.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect welds on oil and gas process facilities against ASME, API and other standards, checking weld procedures, welder qualifications and material compliance
• Monitor welding processes and parameters against approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections and identify and report welding defects
• Carry out NDT (UT, PT, MT, RT) and interpret results in line with ISO, ASME, AWS and API standards; maintain Level II NDT certification and oversee subcontractor NDT
• Ensure compliance with QatarEnergy HSE standards and PTW/ePTW systems, conduct HSE inspections and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Prepare inspection and NDT reports, welding logs and traceability records, and review contractor welding procedures, method statements and quality plans

Required profile

• CSWIP 3.2.2 certification held for at least 3 years
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Valid Level II NDT certification in UT, MT, PT or RT
• 10+ years of oil and gas experience for diploma holders, 5+ years for degree holders
• Proven in-plant and construction welding inspection experience and hands-on NDT and WPS qualification
• Ability to pass QatarEnergy PTW and ePTW certification; QatarEnergy project experience preferred
