Signage Asset Engineer (Roads O&M)

About the role

Egis is seeking a detail‑oriented Signage Asset Engineer to join its Roads Operations & Maintenance team in Doha. The role focuses on managing the full lifecycle of highway traffic signage, ensuring safety, visibility and cost‑effective performance across the road network.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all highway signage assets, including regulatory, warning, guide, directional and informational signs, as well as ground‑mounted, cantilever and gantry‑mounted structures.
• Ensure compliance with MUTCD, ASTM standards, local authority requirements and international best practices.
• Develop and maintain accurate asset inventories and registers within the Asset Management System, capturing type, dimensions, materials, age, condition and retroreflectivity performance.
• Establish condition‑assessment methodologies, inspection criteria and performance indicators for signs and support structures.
• Plan, coordinate and oversee inspections, maintenance, rehabilitation and replacement activities.
• Monitor retroreflective performance and recommend corrective actions to maintain serviceability.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on detail and data accuracy.
• Technical knowledge of traffic sign standards, retroreflective materials, fabrication practices and inspection methods.
• Experience in asset management for transportation infrastructure is preferred.

Required skills

• Familiarity with MUTCD and ASTM standards for traffic signage.
• Knowledge of retroreflective material properties and performance testing.
• Proficiency in using an Asset Management System to track inventory and maintenance history.
• Ability to develop inspection criteria and condition‑assessment procedures.
