About the role
The Sous Chef – Bakery & Pastry supports the Executive Pastry Chef in managing all bakery and pastry operations at a five‑star hotel. The role ensures the production of high‑quality breads, pastries, desserts and confectionery items while maintaining consistency and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Pastry Chef in overseeing daily bakery and pastry production.
- Ensure product quality, consistency and compliance with food safety regulations.
- Supervise and develop the bakery team, providing training and guidance.
- Maintain inventory, control costs and support menu development.
Required profile
- Diploma or degree in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts or a related field.
- 3–5 years of bakery and pastry experience in a luxury hotel or upscale hospitality environment.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of pastry, bakery and dessert preparation.
- Understanding of food safety standards.
