Technology Services Controller – Passenger Screening

About the role

This position acts as the technical authority for Passenger Screening Systems across Hamad International Airport (HIA) and Doha International Airport (DIA). You will ensure system reliability, security, and regulatory compliance while bridging business needs, suppliers, and project teams to deliver innovative and resilient screening solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the fleet of passenger screening equipment and associated applications at HIA and DIA.
• Translate operational needs into detailed technical requirements.
• Lead passenger‑screening projects, acting as the liaison between suppliers and project managers.
• Research emerging technologies and recommend implementations that improve passenger experience and protect information assets.
• Identify risks related to screening systems and develop mitigation plans.
• Establish and manage security controls for screening systems.
• Govern system architecture to ensure consistency with internal and external specifications.
• Review functional and non‑functional requirements and provide recommendations.
• Conduct impact analyses for major design options.
• Design scalable, resilient, and sustainable solutions.
• Monitor new regulations (ECAC, TSA, QCAA) and ensure system alignment.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years experience with passenger screening systems (X‑Ray, CT, body scanners, explosive trace detectors, bottle‑liquid scanners).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Proven experience working with multiple equipment manufacturers and evaluating new technologies.
• Hands‑on implementation and maintenance experience in a medium‑to‑large airport or aviation environment.
• Strong awareness of aviation regulatory compliances and certifications.
