Telephone Operator - Arabic Speaking

About the role

Join IHG’s hospitality team in Doha as an Arabic‑speaking Telephone Operator. You will be the first point of contact for guests, handling calls and ensuring smooth communication across the hotel.

Key responsibilities

• Handle incoming and outgoing calls, in‑house calls, take written messages, transfer to voicemail and retrieve messages.
• Manage wake‑up call requests, set the console, and address unanswered calls.
• Process guest requests such as DND, private guest registrations, and function‑room phones while providing general hotel information.
• Respond to security issues (fire alarm, bomb threats, confidentiality) and assist with guest complaints.
• Oversee overnight tasks including daily reports, line checks, pulse‑control reports and communicate requests to the overnight runner.
• Operate the switchboard manually during system outages (Opera crash) and follow contingency plans.

Required profile

• Minimum 1–2 years experience in a similar telephone/operator role.
• Fluent in English and Arabic with strong communication skills.
• Willingness to work multiple shifts, including nights.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and maintain confidentiality.
• Proactive judgment in challenging situations.

Required skills

• Opera Property Management System (PMS) operation.
• Switchboard operation and management.
