Turnaround Coordinator

About the role

Qatar Airways Group is recruiting a Turnaround Coordinator in Doha to join its talent pool. The role supervises and coordinates a safe and on-time aircraft turnaround for customer airlines in line with IATA IGOM Chapter 6 requirements and the airlines' procedures, ensuring aircraft are loaded and offloaded safely and that loading follows the load plan.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate a safe, on-time turnaround and act as the main point of contact, reporting ground damage or incidents as required.
• Ensure aircraft are loaded and offloaded safely, in line with the load plan, load sheet and load instructions, and that deviations are confirmed with the Load Controller.
• Coordinate ground movement communication (headset operations) and ensure special loads are tied down and secured, with locks raised before closing cargo holds.
• Check dead loads and aircraft holds for damage, leakage or missing locks, nets and stanchions.
• Deliver baggage and cargo to their areas within the stated times and tally ULD movement slips and cargo handover forms before loading and off-chocking.
• Update Target Off-Block Timing (TOBT) and Target Start-Up Approval Time (TSAT) and record activity timings to identify delays.
• Spot-check QAS resources for safety and security, and coordinate QAS resources with the Airside Duty Manager for emergencies.

Required profile

• Minimum high school, vocational or diploma qualification, with 3 years of job-related experience.
• Experience as a coordinator, airline representative, load controller or person responsible for loading; preferred: load control experience and headset operation experience.
• Able to obtain the Aircraft/Ramp Handling certificate and the IATA Dangerous Goods training (Cat.10).
• Command of English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred: understanding of the Loading Instruction Report Form (LIRF) and a Qatari driving licence.
