Vice President, Academics

About the role

The University of Doha for Science & Technology seeks a proven leader to provide executive‑level oversight for academic affairs and to drive the implementation of its Teaching and Learning Strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide executive‑level leadership and direction for a university‑wide academic affairs strategy.
• Advise the President on academic plans, policies, and procedures aligned with the university’s strategic plan.
• Build internal and external relationships and serve on local, regional, and international committees, boards, and task‑force teams.
• Lead the identification, development, and maintenance of high‑quality, market‑appropriate technical and applied programmes.
• Contribute to the formulation of UDST’s overall strategy and lead its academic implementation.
• Ensure the development and implementation of policies, procedures, processes, and guidelines related to institutional delivery and academics.
• Monitor the performance of the Academics Division against established KPIs.
• Develop and monitor the academic annual budget in collaboration with the Support Services Division.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with higher‑education institutions, K‑12 groups, industry stakeholders, and ministerial bodies.
• Provide strategic leadership in the design, development, coordination, assessment, and continuous improvement of experiential learning and academic excellence.

Required profile

• Earned PhD from an accredited institution in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Business or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of total experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership position at a rapidly growing university or college.
• Proven ability to lead complex academic operations, drive academic excellence, and support innovation in teaching, learning, research, and industry engagement.
• Experience reviewing faculty promotion portfolios and building high‑performing leadership teams.
• Background in internationally recognised higher‑education institutions with strong understanding of global academic standards and accreditation frameworks.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
