Welding Supervisor

About the role

Elegancia Steel is looking for an experienced Welding Supervisor to lead welding operations in its structural steel fabrication plant in Qatar. The role involves planning, supervising and ensuring high‑quality welding work while meeting production targets and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise daily and weekly welding activities according to production schedules.
• Ensure welding work complies with approved WPS, project specifications and quality requirements.
• Manage welding manpower, monitor productivity, attendance and overtime.
• Coordinate with Production, QA/QC, NDT and Fabrication teams to achieve project objectives.
• Maintain welder qualification records and support training programmes.
• Monitor welding quality, investigate defects and implement corrective actions.
• Control handling, storage and inventory of welding consumables and gases.
• Enforce health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Oversee maintenance and calibration of welding equipment.
• Prepare daily production, welding and consumable reports.

Required profile

• Diploma/ITI in Welding Technology, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6‑12 years experience in structural steel fabrication.
• 3‑5 years supervisory experience in the GCC.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes and applicable codes.

Required skills

• Proficiency in GMAW, FCAW, SMAW and SAW welding processes.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and interpret welding symbols.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX and other welding codes.
• Experience with welding procedure specifications (WPS) and welder qualification records.
• Maintenance and calibration of welding equipment.
